KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has announced a long-term closure of Jalan Tun H. S. Lee from Monday until June 30, 2015.
Its strategic communication and public relations director Amir Mahmood Razak said the closure was to facilitate the construction of a diaphragm wall for the future Pasar Seni Station.
During the closure, traffic would be diverted to an alternative route, which is newly-constructed by MRT Corp. The route can be accessed via Jalan Panggong.
"In view of the extensive duration of the closure, which is until mid-2015, we have made available this alternative route for the convenience of motorists," he said in a statement.
Amir Mahmood said another closure was at the Sprint Highway (Petaling Jaya-bound) where the right-most lane would undergo a trial closure for one week, effective Monday (midnight) to Jan 26.
This involves the stretch from Jalan Batai Barat junction to the Bukit Kiara interchange.
The trial closure is an added 240 metres to the present long-term closure of the right-most lane at Sprint Highway which starts after the Maarof Interchange.
"The trial closure is implemented to allow the relevant authorities to study the traffic flow at the area, and two lanes will be available for motorists at the highway during the trial closure," said Amir Mahmood. - Bernama
