SHAH ALAM: A Nigerian student was sentenced to 10 years in jail and 10 strokes of the rotan for cannabis possession while his Indonesian friend walked away a free woman after she was acquitted.
Steven Okechukwa, 31, and Sunayani (female), 39, earlier faced the death sentence when they were accused of trafficking 851.12g of cannabis at an apartment in Bandar Puteri on June 7, 2010. Both pleaded not guilty to trafficking.
