DUNGUN: A doctor lost about RM23,000 to a snatch thief in the compound of her house in Kampung Sura Tengah here last Sunday, police said on Wednesday.
Dungun OCPD Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacub said the incident took place at 11.50 pm when the 45-year-old doctor had alighted from her car and was locking the vehicle door.
The thief snatched her handbag, jumped over the perimeter wall and sped off in a car waiting by the roadside, he said when contacted by Bernama.
The doctor tried to chase the thief but he was too fast for her, he added.
