KUALA LUMPUR: A 31-year-old Peeping Tom has been detained for recording a video of a 20-year-old woman showering in a condominium in Cheras last Saturday.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohan Singh said the woman was taking a bath in her ground-floor unit when she noticed a handphone pointed at her from outside the bathroom window at 11.54am on Saturday.
“The shocked housewife informed her husband, who lodged a complaint with the security office.
“Security personnel were able to identify the culprit after viewing CCTV footage,” he said yesterday.
A police report was made on the same day.
ACP Mohan said police identified the man and arrested him at his unit on Sunday.
“He admitted to the crime after being questioned,” he said.
It is learnt that the Peeping Tom works at an insurance agency and is married without children.
“We browsed through his phone and found a recording of the victim in her shower.
“The handphone was brought in as evidence,” ACP Mohan said, adding that the suspect has been remanded.
