Prosecution drops cheating charges against ex-transport minister


KUALA LUMPUR: Former transport minister Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy has been acquitted and discharged from all three charges of cheating former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) controversy in 2011.

Chan’s lawyer Datuk Tan Hock Chuan said the prosecution decided to drop the charges after considering his client’s application to strike out the case.
