GEORGE TOWN: The wake for former Penang Gerakan chairman Datuk Tan Gim Hwa, who died late Sunday, will be held for five days until Friday at his residence in No 1, Halaman Macalister, here.
Tan's younger brother, Keong Huah, said Monday that Tan's body will be taken to the Batu Gantong crematorium at 11am Friday.
"Up until this morning, only his close friends have visited him because we did not inform the rest of his passing as it was all too sudden," said Keong Huah, 68.
He expected more people to arrive later in the day.
Tan died around 11pm after suffering from multiple stroke since May last year.
The Gerakan strongman and founding member had been on life support since Saturday.
