IPOH: Hell hath no fury like a man whose automated teller machine (ATM) card is swallowed by an ATM!
Using a knife, the 35-year-old, believed to have been drunk at the time, broke the screens of the seven ATMs in the incident about 10.10pm.
City police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong said a police team detained the suspect, from Taman Pinji Mewah, Lahat and seized a knife to facilitate investigations.
He said preliminary investigations revealed the suspect, who was drunk at that time, became furious when one of the ATMs swallowed his bank card.
"Whipping out a knife, the man damaged the screens of seven ATMs," he said in a statement here Sunday.
Sum said the case was investigated under Section 6 (1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958 -Bernama.
