IPOH: The Perak MCA liaison committee will be holding a meeting with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir to discuss several urgent matters.
State MCA Chief Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said one of the issues that needed to be tackled immediately was the appointment of city and district councillors in the state for this year.
"Since the state exco has decided to revise down the number of councillors, we have to discuss about the appointment for the post in detail," he told reporters after chairing the state liaison's meeting at state MCA headquarters here on Saturday.
Dr Mah said the total number of councillors allocated to MCA had been reduced from 91 to 60.
"Besides MCA, councillors representing other political parties are also affected by the move," he said.
On the appointment of the new line-up of the state MCA liaison committee, Dr Mah announced that Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Datuk Seri Kuan Peng Soon are appointed as the advisers.
He said the state MCA Deputy chairmen were Datuk Ooi Jing Ting and Datuk Ho Cheng Wang.
The four vice chairmen, he added, were Datuk Tan Chin Meng, Datuk Yew Tuan Chiew, Chang Chun Chuen and Lim Poh Kuang.
