GEORGE TOWN: Police uncovered an illegal gambling den in Thean Teik Estate, Air Itam on Saturday following the arrest of 33 people.
The gamblers, aged between 22 and 75, were busy placing bets in the car workshop before police stormed in at about 12.45am.
Eight of them were women, including a Vietnamese national.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said police have brought the suspects to the Magistrate Court for a remand order to be obtained.
