KUALA LUMPUR: The body of 11-year-old Salman Mokhtar, who slipped and fell into a drain in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn last week, was found nearly 50km away in a rubbish trap in Dengkil.
Kajang OCPD ACP Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab said the public alerted police of the body at around 1pm Tuesday. The body was clad in the same red t-shirt and green shorts that Salman was wearing when he fell last Friday.
“He was washed quite far off due to the heavy downpours recently. His body was in stages of decomposition with some bruises.
"The body was brought to the Serdang Hospital and the child’s mother has identified him,” he said.
A massive search was launched for Salman, after he slipped and fell in a drain along Jalan Suasana 2/7 in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn on Friday evening.
Kajang fire station staff had combed the drains for four days in search of the child.
