Tragic end: Police carrying the body of the woman out of the hotel to be sent to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for a post-mortem.
KLANG: A 49-year-old woman, dressed only in her undergarments, has been found dead at a hotel room here while her alleged murderer died after slashing his own neck.
A hotel staff witnessed the 58-year-old man attacking the woman and quickly contacted the police.
North Klang police chief Asst Comm Shukor Sulong said the employee heard some commotion in the room at about 5.10am yesterday.
“When the staff member went to check, she found the man attacking the woman.
“By the time the police arrived at the scene, which was not more than five minutes later, the victim was found lying on the bed while the man was sitting beside with blood oozing from his neck,” said ACP Shukor.
The man died on his way to the hospital, he added.
He said police believed the woman was first hit on the head with a blunt object before being slashed in the neck.
“The motive of the murder is still being investigated,” he said.
The couple had checked in at the hotel the night before and although both share the same address on their MyKad, their relationship had yet to be established.
The police recovered a hammer, a knife and a car belonging to the suspect at the scene.
Police are investigating the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
