Muhyiddin: Selangor Umno's decision on ‘Allah’ issue based on Sultan’s decree

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Umno had acted on its own in calling for protests over a Catholic priest's remark that churches in the state would use the word 'Allah' in reference to God, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said on Thursday.

This was based on the state's laws and the decree issued by the sultan on the matter, he told reporters after making a visit to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Chung Hwa today on the first day of the new school year.
