234 summonses issued in ops

GURUN: The Kedah Road Transport Department issued 234 summonses to motorists for various offences in an integrated operation at the south-bound Gurun rest and recreation area along the North-South Expressway.

Its acting director Fatimah Saad said the operation saw most of the errant motorists being booked for possession of an expired driving licence with 75 cases recorded.

Other offences included driving vehicles with dark-tinted glass (50 cases), modified registration plate number (16) and expired road tax (12), she told reporters on Monday. — Bernama
