MALACCA: A university undergraduate, who gave birth in the middle of the night in the bathroom, tossed the baby boy out.

However, her aunt found the 18-year-old girl bleeding profusely in the bathroom and rushed her to the hospital.

Police later found the dead baby outside the house below the bathroom.

It is learnt that the teenager visited her aunt's village home in Batang Tiga here on Tuesday night and unexpectedly gave birth.

She had kept her pregnancy a secret for nine months.

When she did not come out of the bathroom after 45 minutes, her aunt, in her 60s, decided to check on her and found her bleeding.

She was rushed to the Malacca Hospital at about 9pm and doctor realized she had just given birth.

Malacca CID chief Asst Comm Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said the police managed to find the baby's body outside the house near the bathroom later the same night at about 1am.

''The case is being investigated for murder,'' he said when contacted here on Wednesday.
