Syahidi leaves behind wife Mazlin Mansor, 28, and their one-year-old daughter.

His brother-in-law Mohd Faizul Mansor, 29, described him as a kind and quiet man.

“He was very hardworking. He would take up whatever job that was offered.

“However, he mentioned that he needed a stable job for the sake of his family,” he said.

His father in-law Mansor Hamid, 59, said he could not believe what happened as he had just seen Syahidi the night before.

“But he is gone now,” he said when met at the Seberang Jaya hospital mortuary where Syahidi’s body was sent for a post-mortem.

It is learnt that the deceased had told Mansor that he wanted to bring his family members to Pulau Langkawi before the tragic incident.

Mazlin, who works as a nurse at the Kulim Hospital, was too distraught to speak to reporters.
