BR1M applications now open

KUALA LUMPUR: Applications for the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) programme 2014 are now open.

Current BR1M recipients need not re-register for the assistance, but must update their personal details, including their addresses, family information and bank accounts, a Finance Ministry statement said.

“New applicants can register online or manually by filling up the BR1M 2014 form,” it added yesterday.

The forms are available at the Internal Revenue Board (LHDN), Federal Development Department and Welfare Department branche­s or can be downloaded from the LHDN website at www.hasil.gov.my.

The application deadline is Jan 31.

Contributions would be given to the recipients from February and are expected to benefit 5.9 million households and two million single and unmarried individuals.

The public can call 1-800-88-2716 for more details.

The line will be opened from Dec 23, between 9am and 5pm, from Monday to Friday. — Bernama
