Fama to set up bazaar in Singapore

JOHOR BARU: Singaporeans can look forward to buying Malaysian agro-based products with the setting up of a bazaar in a shopping complex in the republic by the middle of next year.

The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) has identified four potential locations there for the agro-bazaar, which will be offering over 300 products made by Malaysian entrepreneurs.

Johor Fama director Faridulatrash Md Mokri said the locations being considered were in Beach Road, Geylang, Bedok and Jurong.

“The setting up of the bazaar in Singapore is a stepping stone for us to further penetrate foreign markets in the near future,” he said, adding that Malaysian agro-based products were popular among Singaporeans.

Faridulatrash added that Fama was now in the midst of discussion with the mall operators in Singapore.
