Man yearns for son said to be in Philippines

JOHOR BARU: After being discharged from hospital, Tang Yeong Sing returned home to find that his Filipina wife had run away with their six-year-old son.

Tang, 37, believes they are now in the Philippines and is worried that he would not see his son Xin Kit again.

“I’m worried that I will not be able to see my son again as his passport is going to expire next September and dread to think that he’ll be stuck in the Philippines,” said Tang, who wants Xin Kit to be returned before he begins Primary One next year.

He said this was the fifth time his wife, Lotis Escarmosa Rejuso, 35, had left their home since they got married in April 2010.

And she would usually take her son with her, he added.

The latest episode took place on Sept 19, after Tang was hospitalised at Hospital Sultan Ismail on Sept 18 for sinus problems.

“When I was discharged the next day and went home, I found our house empty and I knew that she had left again,” he told reporters.

Permas Selatan MCA division chairman Shium Chan Teck assisted Tang in lodging a police report at the Permas Jaya police station on Sept 25.

Tang believed that Escarmosa ran away because he had slapped her for refusing to get him his medication before he was admitted to hospital.

“I have tried calling her sisters Jamie and Sunshine in the Philippines more that 300 times but they did not answer my calls,” he said, adding that his son was now there based on the photos of the boy posted on his wife’s Facebook page.

He said he did not know how his wife managed to sneak Xin Kit out of the country as he was holding his son’s passport.
