Son of ex-IGP Hanif Omar dies

SHAH ALAM: The son of former Inspector-General of Police Tun Hanif Omar (pix) died after falling unconscious beside his car in Shah Alam.

It is learnt that Ahmad Jamal Omar, 40, was driving his Honda Accord, after sending a friend home.

When they reached the destination, Ahmad Jamal got out of the car but fainted at about 4.20am Tuesday.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Zahedi Ayob said the friend then alerted the police but Ahmad Jamal had died by the time rescuers arrived at the scene.

“A post-mortem conducted on the body showed that he died of brain haemorrhage,” he added.

Ahmad Jamal, the youngest of four siblings, was recovering from an aneurysm surgery.

He was laid to rest at the Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery in Kuala Lumpur.
