54-year-old woman killed during a robbery in Subang Jaya

SUBANG JAYA: A factory operator was found dead at her home in an apparent case of robbery-cum-murder here.

The body of Rumaizah Burhan, 54, was discovered by her 59-year-old sister in her bedroom at around 4.30pm yesterday.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said the sister found the house ransacked and the bedroom doors locked when she returned home from work.

She then asked her son to break down the bedroom door and found the victim lying on the bed with a pillow over her face, said ACP Yahaya.

“They moved the pillow away and discovered that the victim was dead. There were injuries to her face.

“We believe that the woman was hit on her face with a blunt object,” ACP Yahaya said.

He added that her body had been sent to Serdang Hospital for a post mortem.

He said it was possible that the victim could have known her attacker as there was no sign of forced entry.

Valuables belonging to the victim, including a watch, jewellery and mobile phone, were missing, he said.
