20-year-old killed in mob attack

KUALA LUMPUR: A 20-year-old youth who was reportedly posting suicidal updates on Facebook and Whatsapp is alleged to have died after being set upon by a mob in Pandan Indah.

It is learnt that the victim, identified as Shahreza Fauzi, was beaten up by four security guards at a mosque in Pandan Indah at 4.30am on Tuesday after he was spotted stealing money from a donation box.

He was reportedly sent to the Ampang Hospital for treatment but died on the way.

His body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.

His childhood friend, who only wished to be known as Nazrin, said Shahreza was living with his stepfather in an apartment in Bukit Indah, Ampang, after his mother passed away five months ago.

He lost his father at a tender age.
