PETALING JAYA: An ailing business venture had allegedly driven a 60-year-old man to commit suicide at a playground in Subang Jaya Tuesday.
It is learnt that a resident of the neighbourhood lodged a police report after chancing upon the body around 6.37am.
The deceased, clad in blue-coloured pants and t-shirt, was found hanging from a gazebo in the neighbourhood playground.
"His body was sent to the Serdang Hospital for post mortem," said Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Yahaya Ramli.
It is believed that the deceased was under a lot of stress after his agricultural business in Cameron Highlands had failed.
"We believe that the deceased had sought medical treatment for emotional distress," said ACP Yahaya.
The deceased was living with his wife, who was reportedly on a sabbatical trip to Johor at the time of the tragedy.
