KOTA BARU: Malaysia imports about 30% of its national rice requirement from abroad, said Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Ministry secretary-general Datuk Hashim Abdullah.
Hashim added that the nation was on the right track to achieving zero rice imports and had taken several measures to ensure self-sufficiency in padi planting to reach 100%.
