London slavery: IGP confirms victim to be Siti Aishah

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian victim involved in the Lambeth slavery case is Siti Aishah Abdul Wahab.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed her identity and revealed that the woman was a student activist and leftist in the 1970s.

“She was also wanted by the police due to her involvement in communist activities during that time.

“However, she fled to London and continued her extremist ways there,” he told a press conference Wednesday.

Khalid said he would seek a full report from UK police before proceeding further in the matter.

He also ruled out the possiblity of arresting the woman.

“I feel there is no need to detain her...it would just a be a waste of time,” he said.

Local celebrity Zan Azlee who is Astro Awani magazine editor also confirmed to the Star Online that he believes Siti to be his aunt.
