KUALA LUMPUR: Efforts to tackle gang related activities via Ops Cantas has led to a 23 percent reduction in murder cases over the last three months said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wan Junaid Tuanku Jaafar.
"The most obvious success is the lowering of the serious crime index, particularly involving murder where the number of cases dropped by 23 percent from 187 to 144 cases over the last 96 days following the launch of Ops Cantas," he said when replying a question raised by Dr Lee Boon Chye (PKR-Gopeng) on the number of individuals arrested during Ops Cantas in Dewan Rakyat on Wednesday.
