MIC polls: Youth secretary Sivarraajh now the chief

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC Youth secretary C. Sivarraajh won the Youth chief's post, defeating deputy chief V. Mugilan by 44 votes in the party elections Saturday.

Sivarraajh garnered 270 votes to Mugilan's 234 to take over from Datuk T Mohan who is going for a shot at vice-president.

The deputy's post was won by MIC legal bureau head R. Thinalan, beating Malacca MIC deputy chief K. Sashi. Kedah MIC Youth exco member K. Somasundaram withdrew his candidacy at the last minute.
