ALOR SETAR: A syndicate that profiteered from subsidised diesel and petrol in Penang, Kedah and Perlis has been crippled with the arrest of a man in Seberang Prai by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
Some RM1.5mil worth of fuel were seized, and the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry’s enforcement officers and the Attorney-General Department’s special task force officers also froze 30 bank accounts with RM17mil in deposits during the synchronised raids on six oil depots.
