GEORGE TOWN: A youth, believed to have played computer games continuously for more than 15 hours, was found dead bent over the device in his room in Bandar Baru Air Itam on Monday.
Ong Yee Haw, 23, had left the house to go to an Internet cafe on Sunday evening, and only got back home at about 1pm the next day.
It is believed he returned home and continued using his computer, where he was found by his uncle who went to check on him at about 4pm.
Ong’s heart-broken mother, Chew Qun Juan, 62, said her only son had been addicted to computer games ever since he stopped working at a restaurant five months ago after he was involved in a motorcycle accident.
“He injured his right hand and stopped working then.
“I reminded him over and over again not to spend too much time on games but he never listened,” she said at the Penang Hospital mortuary Tuesday.
Ong's body was cremated at the Batu Gantung crematorium.
