PETALING JAYA: A blog on Singapore's Straits Times website was defaced on Friday by a hacker claiming to be affiliated to the Anonymous hacking group.
The attack came after the blog allegedly misreported the aims of an upcoming Anonymous campaign, the hacker known as "The Messiah" claimed.
The Messiah" had hacked into the website of Straits Times through the blog of one of its reporters, Irene Tham, before posting a message under her name to tell them that it was being hacked for misleading Singaporeans.
He said he was unhappy that Tham had reported Anonymous was going to "wage war against Singapore", when he meant "wage war against the Singapore government".
"That, in our opinion can be very misleading,” said the hacker, who gave Tham a 48-hour deadline to apologise to Singaporeans.
