KULAIJAYA: Four estate labourers were charged at a magistrate’s court here for allegedly committing two murders at a rubber plantation here two weeks ago.
R Jayachandiran, 22, P Ramunaidu, 31, T Kumaresan, 21 and a 17-year-old teenager were charged together with another man who is still at large for the murders of two men.
The victims, S.Visva Nathan, 48, and M Kalaiselvan Mudaliar, 38, were allegedly murdered by the men at Taman Gaya in Saleng, Senai here between 6pm on Oct 17 to 1.30am the following day.
They were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which was read together with Section 149, before magistrate Ahmad Farid Ahmad Kamal.
The four accused nodded their head when asked if they understood the charges when it was read out to them in Malay and Tamil.
No plea was recorded.
DPP Siti Asmah Zainal Ariffin prosecuted the case while all four accused were not represented.
Magistrate Ahmad Farid then fixed Dec 11 for mention pending DNA and medical reports and submission of documents.
