The government will abolish the sugar subsidy of RM0.34 starting Saturday.
PETALING JAYA: No major price hikes by food manufacturers are expected for the time being despite the removal of the sugar subsidy, said the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM).
Its president Tan Sri Yong Poh Kon said he also expected minimal impact on the consumption of sugar by the manufacturing sector.
