'Incinerators won't cause health defects'

KUALA LUMPUR: Thermal treatment technology or incinerators are safe and will not have adverse effects on human health and nature, and it can actually help resolve related issues, said Datuk Seri Arpah Abdul Razak.

The Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry secretary­-general said the high-tech system for waste disposal was able to handle the creation and release of toxic chemicals and had proven to be effective in countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Germany and Austria.
