DID you know that some Malaysians would rather give up their TV than their mobile phone? A recent global study commissioned by Google in multiple countries found that 41% of Malaysian smartphone users would ditch the TV in favour of their mobile.
In fact, even while watching the telly, 43% still use their smartphones - something that many of us can identify with.
The survey, conducted by IPSOS MediaCT, asked 500 Malaysians aged between 15 and 64 years old about their smartphone habits, and 88% responded that they use it to access the Internet every day on their devices which is higher than South Korea (73%) and Singapore (72%).
It’s no surprise really if smartphone launches are anything to go by - it’s now normal to see users queuing past midnight to snatch the latest Samsung Galaxy model or new Apple iPhone.
And when you misplace your phone, doesn’t it feel as if a part of you has gone missing? As the smartphone continues to define how we live and work, it would be interesting to hear from you, our reader, on how it’s changing your habits. We have prepared a few simple questions and you can even answer them right from your smartphone - even while watching the TV.
