KUALA LUMPUR: Astro has won Stevie Awards in three categories at the 2013 International Business Awards for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
It won a Gold Stevie Award in the communications or PR campaign of the year, public service category.
It also took home a Silver Stevie Award and in the CSR programme of the year, Asia, Australia and New Zealand category, for its Astro Kasih Beautiful Malaysia CSR initiative.
Astro CEO Datuk Rohana Rozhan was recognised with a Silver Stevie Award in the executive of the year, media and entertainment category.
"We at Astro are humbled that our Beautiful Malaysia: Longest underwater clean up project is receiving recognition globally.
"We would like to dedicate the three Stevie Awards to the Sabah State Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, the marine experts, the Kota Kinabalu Sabah City Hall, the Royal Malaysian Navy, Discovery Networks Asia Pacific, and last but not least, volunteer divers from Malaysia and France, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, Lithuania, Switzerland, Hong Kong and the Netherlands who made the 168 hours non-stop underwater clean up at the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park in Sabah possible,” said Rohana.
