PETALING JAYA: The court’s decision in disallowing The Herald to use the word “Allah” is in line with a 2008 fatwa issued stating that it is a sacred word specific to Islam and the Muslim community and should not be used by non-Muslims, National Fatwa Council chairman Tan Sri Dr Abdul Shukor said.
“We have always said that the word ‘Allah’ is exclusive to Muslims, so we accept the court decision as it is,” he said when contacted.
