KUALA LUMPUR: The Peugeot 208 GTi is set for a thriving drive in Malaysia.
Peugeot distributor Nasim Sdn Bhd unveiled its latest sporty compact model at its new showroom in Jalan Klang Lama yesterday, almost six months after having launched the standard 208 variant.
The three-door 208 GTi comes with a powerful 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing 200hp and is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.
A highlight is the self-park facility – turn on the smart assist park system and the car is able to guide itself into a parallel parking space.
Other features include a seven-inch multi-functional colour touchscreen, LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy rims, leather interior and aluminium accents in and out, six airbags, stability/traction control and anti-lock-braking system.
Nasim chief operating officer Datuk Samson Anand George said the company was confident of selling 20 to 30 units of the 208 GTi each month.
“Currently, we have 30 bookings for the GTi. Deliveries will begin in 15 days,” he added.
The 208 GTi is available in a choice of Rogue Red or Digital White and is priced at RM139,888 (on-the-road with insurance).
