KUALA LUMPUR: A rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle is being sought in connection with the road rage incident that claimed the life of a taxi driver.
City police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohmad Salleh said police believed that the biker beat up Hiew Chen Guang along Jalan Kuchai Lama at about 7am on Sept 30.
The assault left the 66-year-old in a coma and he succumbed to his injuries Monday.
“A post-mortem has revealed that Hiew died of brain haemorrhage.
“We believe the rider beat up Hiew, whose vehicle had accidentally hit the Harley Davidson,” he said at a press conference yesterday.
In another case, police are looking for several men who are responsible for the death of an Australian lawyer during a pub brawl that occurred on Friday.
SDCP Mohmad said police detained a man in his 20s on Saturday following the 4am incident in Jalan Doraisamy here.
“We believe Bhishma Digpaul was beaten up by a group of men following an altercation involving the girlfriend of one of the men.
“The 38-year-old died after being stabbed by one of the men,” he said.
It was reported that Digpaul, of Mauritian origin and said to hold a dual citizenship, was attacked by five men who had accused him of accosting a woman at the pub.
A bystander rushed Digpaul, who was lying in a pool of blood, to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
