KUALA LUMPUR: Two suspects, believed to be 08 secret society gang members, were nabbed in Ops Cantas Khas at Taman Bukit Cheras on Saturday.

Cheras police chief ACP Mohan Singh Tara Singh said the suspects, aged 21 and 23, were suspiciously in a lorry when they were detained at 5.15pm.

"Police found two pieces of metal, including one sharpened at the end and a knife under the seat," he told a press conference on Tuesday.

Police have not ruled out the possibility that the weapons were used for burglary and robbery.

ACP Mohan said the duo had tattoos of a secret society, believed to be 08, on their bodies. One of them had a previous criminal record for drugs.

In another case, ACP Mohan said police found a pistol in front of a lift on the ninth floor of an apartment in Desa Sri Putri, Desa Petaling.

Police detained three local men, aged between 20 and 29, to help in the investigations. They were later freed on police bail.

ACP Mohan said the pistol would be sent to the Forensic Department to determine if it had been used in any crime cases. - Bernama
