KUALA LUMPUR: More than 180 Permata Seni Negara young performers presented a musical titled An Appreciation For Peace in honour of China’s First Lady Peng Liyuan.
The special concert, which was held over an hour, featured dances, music and choral singing, performed in three segments at Istana Negara.
Among those present at the event were the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, who is the wife of the Deputy Prime Minister.
The young performers sang several Malay, Mandarin and English songs and performed the multiracial dance of Malaysia.
After the show, Peng, who is accompanying her husband President Xi Jinping on his three-day state visit to Malaysia, was taken to view Malaysian crafts and songket weaving.
Earlier in Putrajaya, Peng met with Rosmah at Seri Perdana.
Also present were Datin Seri Siti Rubiah Abdul Samad, wife of Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman and Zhang Rufen, who is the wife of China’s Ambassador to Malaysia. — Bernama
