PETALING JAYA: The 13th Global Chinese Music Awards (GCMA) has another A-lister to add glitz to the event.
French car brand Peugeot will be the car of choice for the red hot celebrities attending the event in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur tomorrow.
988 presenter May said Peugeot was the perfect ride for their star-studded line-up.
“When you think of how celebrities make it in the business – they have to look good and be strong from within.
“It is just like a Peugeot car which has style and substance rolled into one,” said May who drives a Peugeot herself.
Peugeot will be ferrying some of Asia’s hottest performers, including Joey Yung (pic), Raymond Lum, Gillian Chung, Charlene Choi, Will Pan, members of IO band and Bibi Chang.
“The GCMA has an avid following and serves as a great platform to reach out to the Chinese community.
“The event has been a success over the years and Peugeot is proud to be a part of this partnership,” said Peugeot car distributor Nasim Sdn Bhd’s group chief operating officer Datuk Samson Anand George.
Peugeot will bring the celebrities in the 508 GT, 508 Premium and 408 Turbo models.
Fellow 988 presenter Yin Yin added that the appearance of Peugeot cars fit well with the event’s Punk Fantasy dress theme.
“Our celebrities are going to pull out all the stops for this mega show. I believe Peugeot cars has the right look and will play a part in completing the ensemble of these celebrities.”
Local stars Gary Chaw, Penny Tai, Michael Wong and Issac Dang are also expected toappear in the awards show, which is hosted by 988.
2012 Asian Wave competition winner Shila Amzah helms the opening performance.
The GCMA was first introduced in 2000 with seven affliate Asian radio stations from Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia taking turns to host the event.
The 13th GCMA 2013 will be held at Putra Stadium. Tickets priced at RM50, RM100, RM150, RM200, RM250, RM300, RM500 and RM800 are available at www.ticketcharge.com.my.
