KUALA LUMPUR: There was no malpractice on the part of the police in the case of the 44 guns which the Inspector-General of Police said went missing in the sea, said Home Minister Datuk Dr Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said, however, police had been directed to strengthen its management of their assets following weaknesses identified in the 2012 Auditor-General's Report.
It was reported in thereport that police lost equipment worth RM1.3mil between 2010 and last year. They included handcuffs, guns, walkie-talkies and vehicles.
