KUALA LUMPUR: The case of the woman found dead inside a wardrobe took another twist after a post-mortem revealed she had died of strangulation.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the post-mortem results showed that the woman died of “strangulation consistent with hanging”.
“During the post-mortem, the coroner also found bruises on her body but those injuries did not cause her death,” he said yesterday.
He said the victim’s husband, who is under remand, would be released on police bail.
The 46-year-old woman was found hanged in her wardrobe at an apartment in Bandar Manjalara here last Thursday.
It was reported that the body was found by her husband, in his 50s, when he returned at about 11am.
The woman was living there with her current husband and a son from the previous marriage.
Police who arrived at the scene around noon found that the body had been placed on the bed.
The husband claimed that he had removed the body from the wardrobe and placed it there.
The husband was picked up by police a day after the incident.
