DUNGUN: A state cyclist was killed while training when he fell off his bicycle and was run over by his escort van along the Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan road.
Mohamad Asmui Ali Awang, 20, was cycling with over a dozen teammates from Kuala Terengganu to Kuantan when the accident happened at 11.30am.
Mohamad Asmui was said to have collided with his teammates before falling off his bike onto the road before the van ran over him.
It is understood they were training for a competition in Sepang this weekend.
The incident happened about four months after state junior cyclist Muhammad Syafiq Imran Syahril, 15, was run over by a trailer in Kampung Guntung, Tepoh, in Kuala Terengganu.
