MALACCA: The State Assembly has approved a motion to appoint former chief minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam as Senator.
The motion was proposed by Chief Minister Datuk Idris Haron (BN-Sungai Udang) and seconded by Datuk Abdul Ghafar Atan (BN-Gadek) before it was put to a vote with 20 members voting for and eight against.
