Obama cancels visit to Malaysia, John Kerry to replace him

SEPANG: President Barack Obama has cancelled his visit to Malaysia due to the US partial shutdown, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister said Obama telephoned him on Wednesday to inform him of the unexpected cancellation.

"President Obama said he is not able to visit Malaysia and will be sending state secretary John Kerry," he said after launching the expansion of SEA regional MRO centre here.

Obama is schedule to visit Malaysia in the middle of the month to attend the inauguration of Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
