KUALA LUMPUR: A former director of a company that supplies foreign films to RTM claimed trial in the Sessions Court here for committing criminal breach of trust involving more than RM1mil.
Mahni Che Kerma, 55, who was entrusted with Syarikat Beta Carriage Sdn Bhd’s money, was charged with committing the offence involving RM1,013,534. She is accused of dishonestly transferring the money from the company’s account into her personal account.
The offence was alleged to have been committed at the company’s office in Jalan 2A/27A, Section 1, Bandar Wangsa Maju on Aug 28.
Mahni faces 20 years in jail, whipping and a fine on conviction. Judge Norsharidah Awang allowed bail at RM25,000 in one surety.
She also ordered Mahni to report to the nearest police station on the first week of each month and ordered for her passport to be surrendered to the court.
The court set Nov 12 for mention.
