MECCA: Sixteen Malaysians are working with a Dubai-based construction company involved in the expansion of the Grand Mosque mataf (area surrounding the Kaabah) to accommodate more worshippers.
The company, Premier Composite Technologies, which specialises in composite material constructions in architectural and marine industries, has been tasked with expanding a prayer space to 300,000 sq m to accommodate 700,000 worshippers, and building multi-layer lanes for tawaf (circumambulating the Kaabah).
