BENTONG: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has put to rest speculation of another round of fuel price hike, saying "there is no such thing."
"Confirmed, there is no such thing (fuel price increase). Whoever is spreading this information, this is just not true.
"There is no decision by the government on this matter, the Cabinet has not discussed this so the price remains as it is, and there will be no increase," Muhyiddin told reporters after attending Umno's election simulation exercise at the party training institute in Janda Baik, here.
The also deputy prime minister chided those who spread such rumours.
Fuel pump prices were last raised early this month by 20sen per litre, from RM1.90 sen to RM2.10 for petrol and from RM1.80 to RM2.00 for diesel.
The government had said the move was to cut the country's fiscal deficit, saving an estimated RM1.1bil per year.
