SHAH ALAM: A 48-year-old Thai, who was accused of raping his daughter, was acquitted by a Sessions Court here Friday without his defence being called.
The Thai, who married a local woman, was charged with raping their then 13-year-old daughter at their home in Bukit Rimau, near here, at 1am on Oct 24, last year.
He was arrested on Nov 14.
Judge Mohammed Mokhzani Mokhtar, in his brief judgment, said the prosecution failed to prove prima facie in the case.
"The court therefore orders the accused to be discharged and acquitted," said Mohammed Mokhzani.
The accused, who had been staying in Malaysia for 30 years, told reporters that he planned to return to Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday.
