Three ships detained while siphoning diesel worth RM3.1mil, 20 arrested


KOTA TINGGI: About 560,000 litres of subsidised diesel worth RM3.1mil was seized and 20 crew members of three ships arrested in a raid at a private jetty in Rengit, Pengerang near here on Monday.

Three oil tankers, eight tanker lorries, six diesel-laden skid tanks and diesel transfer pumps were sealed in a raid conducted by 11 enforcement officers from the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry and 12 personnel from the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) at about 3.30am following a tip-off.
